Tokyo is Bananas

When I first arrived in Tokyo, I was a little unsettled, to say the least. After 14 hours of flying and a 2 hour ride from the airport, the last thing I wanted to be was lost in translation. Initially, Shabuya, the section of Tokyo that we were staying in seemed rather corny, somewhat movie set fake. Maybe it was because it was so extraordinarily different from anything that I had seen or I was just kinda tired but my first reaction was, oh no! After an okay night sleep I went out the next day and walked around a bit. Wow! How cool is Tokyo. Later that afternoon Jeff, Sumiyo and I took the train to Harijuku (spelling), i guess this neighborhood is Tokyo's version of Greenwich Village. By this time I was really into the city, and was thinking I could spend some serious time there. I mean Tokyo is crazy, the fasions are amazing, the people are orderly and disciplined and the city is absolutely gorgeous. LOVE IT!
